Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
I think everyone knows these are the words on the Statue of Liberty. But America once again wants to close its borders against refugees seeking a better life. The Syrian Refugee Crisis is the largest refugee crisis since World War II. And as a quick reminder:
Let’s put some rational thought into the fear of terrorists:
According to 2011 data from 2011 National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) report:
1) The chances being attacked by a terrorist are roughly 1 in 20 million.
2) The likelihood of you drowning in a bathtub (1 in 800,000),
3) Losing your life in a car crash (1 in 19,000),
4) Dying in a building fire (1 in 99,000),
5) Being struck by lightning (1 in 5,500,000).
From this, I would suggest that all bathtubs be registered and placed in internment camps.
And welcome the Syrian Refugees!
